Q&A with our CEO | Peter Brotherton
I joined Redcentric in 2015 as CFO, with over 25 years of experience in the telecoms and technology sectors.
Promoted to CEO in 2018, my goal is to drive innovation and growth, solidifying Redcentric’s market position and ensuring we have a high level of customer satisfaction.
Q. Can you describe how Redcentric’s strategic acquisitions have contributed to the company?
Since formulating our acquisition strategy in 2020, our acquisitions have significantly enhanced our capabilities and scale. Piksel Industrial Solutions brought expertise in digital transformation and hyper-cloud services. 7 Elements and Sungard Consultancy strengthened our cyber security solutions. Additionally, 4D Data Centres and Sungard Data Centres expanded our customer base and created substantial cost synergy opportunities, fully meeting our strategic objectives.
Q. How have these acquisitions enhanced Redcentric’s competitive positioning?
We now have one of the broadest and best-in-class solution offerings in the market. In addition, we have acquired two enterprise grade data centre facilities, enabling us to offer very competitive solutions.
Q. How have these acquisitions influenced Redcentric’s financial performance?
The acquisitions significantly influenced Redcentric’s financial performance, with FY23 and FY24 reflecting initial restructuring costs and increased electricity prices. FY25 will showcase the true financial benefits, with expected revenue and profits doubling pre-acquisition levels. Employee numbers have also risen from 395 to 659, underscoring our expanded capacity and growth and bringing valuable new skills into the business.
Q. What are Redcentric’s strategic priorities and growth initiatives for the upcoming year?
Our strategic priorities include pursuing scale-based acquisitions to expand the customer base and to extract synergies. Driving organic growth through cross-selling to existing and acquired customers is key, alongside consolidating multiple cloud platforms to enhance efficiency and integration benefits. These initiatives aim to boost both revenues and profits.
Q. How does Redcentric plan to capitalise on its new capabilities and scale?
Along with strategic cross-selling to existing customers we will be leveraging the opportunities presented by the former Sungard Data Centres. With the AI revolution driving demand for data centre space and power, our West Yorkshire and London West sites offer significant growth potential. Combined with our broad product offerings and increased scale, we aim to be the partner of choice for large SMEs and small enterprises, enhancing growth and financial performance.
